You are as surprised as I was. That wasn't the story I had meant to write but the Muse gave me a curve ball and I followed where it lead.
I truly believe that Sunnydale gave him a purpose and a new lease to life but Los Angeles gave him and actual life, something comparable to what we go through in the Human Condition, gives him memories and grief the way we experience it.
